At Neverland we recognise the responsibility to understand the environmental and social impacts of our business and to take the necessary steps to limit our impact on the planet.
Some of the ways Neverland is currently acting on this;
REUSABLE TOTE BAGS
Available to purchase for $5 or get one free with purchases of $200+ in store. They are 100% reusable, or BYO any tote bag of your choice and our team will be happy to put your purchases in it.
Our online postage satchels have an 80% recycled content, this is a mix of post-consumer and post-industrial materials. They can be recycled through all soft plastic recycling collection points, like REDcycle at your local supermarket.
We are currently in the process of phasing our plastic shopping bags in-stores and swapping to paper bags, which will be available to purchase for $0.20.
The paper bags have 80% recycled content, this is a mix of post-consumer and post-industrial materials. They can be recycled simply by placing in your home recycling bin for curb side collection.
As of June 2022, our house brands (NXP, KSCY, Nomadic Paradise, Sushi Radio, Amercain Paris & Inventory) use garment labels made of Recycled Polyester which is made from recycled plastic bottles. The production of recycled polyester requires far fewer resources than that of new fibres and generates fewer CO2 emissions.
All house brand swing tags are made from 100% recycled cotton scraps.
BIODEGRADABLE GARMENT BAGS
Our house brands are packed in individual garment bags which are made from LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene) with a D2 additive which makes them 100% biodegradable.
CARBON NEAUTRAL ELECTRICTY
The majority of our stores and our entire head office is powered with carbon neutral energy. Our power supplier has been certified carbon neutral under the Australian government’s Climate Active Carbon Neutral Standard.
Whilst Neverland do not own or operate our manufacturing factories, we work closely to communicate and monitor our expectations that all workers are not subjected to unhygienic, unacceptable, unsafe, or exploitative working conditions.
Neverland is proud to stock many external brands that share our views across sustainability and ethical sourcing. To find out more, we recommend checking out the website of the individual brand.
Our journey to being a more sustainable business is on-going and we will continue to make positive changes within our business where possible.
